I’m delighted to be artist-in-residence again for a second year at National Flash Fiction Day in the UK, and I’m honoured to have been asked to create the original artwork for the front cover of the annual anthology. I have been told NFFD are ‘thrilled’ with it. Phew!
Between the covers of the anthology are flash fictions under 500 words, along with the winners of the 100 word micros. This year’s theme is ‘Family’ and the editors have said that they had to make some tough decisions, the entries were of such high quality. It’s always a treat to read this anthology every year. It’s a wonderful example of how flexible flash fiction is.
Events this year will be online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Some activities are still in the planning stage, but I’m delighted to say that I’ll be providing some visual prompts for the Write-In which takes place on the day itself. In the meantime the Flash Flood competition will open between 25th and 31st May. Stay tuned to National Flash Fiction Day for updates.
